The Romance of a Covered Bridge.
Journey back in time to the early 20th century as you pass through South Carolina's only remaining covered bridge. Campbell's Covered Bridge takes you across a gently running stream and into the pages of an old romantic novel. Built in 1909, it's a perfectly preserved, functional piece of American history. Over the river and through the town.
The Ravenel Bridge is not only an impressive structure to look at, but it creates a fun pedestrian commute between Mt. Pleasant and downtown Charleston. This breathtaking architectural triumph also serves as the centerpiece of the annual Charleston Bridge Run, and is a favorite among cyclists seeking a bike ride that provides a heart-pumping challenge. Either way, the view from the crest is well worth the climb.

Almost 80 years old and still swinging.
The Socastee Swing Bridge operates much the way it did when it opened back in 1936. It was designed to connect Conway to what was then the developing resort community of Myrtle Beach. The 217 ft. bridge pivots on its base, turning perpendicular to the roadway to allow masted vessels and barges to pass by on the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. To learn more, click here.
